As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, everyone at Lexington City School System is excited to welcome our students and families—both returning and new! Our faculty and staff are committed to meeting the needs of every child and providing a safe, supportive environment where students can learn and grow. We look forward to another busy, rewarding year together.
The safety of our students and staff remains one of our highest priorities. We continue to invest in training, resources, and security measures to help ensure our schools are as safe as possible. While some procedures may occasionally be inconvenient, they have been implemented with the well-being of our students and staff in mind.
This year marks my 38th year in education and my 10th year as Superintendent. I have been blessed to serve as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and now superintendent, and it continues to be an honor to serve this community.
My husband, Bobby, and I have been married for 38 years. He recently retired after a 39-year career with FedEx. We are proud parents of two children and grandparents to two wonderful granddaughters, and we are grateful to have our family close to home here in Lexington.
I am truly excited about the year ahead. Our teachers and staff are among the most dedicated professionals I have ever had the privilege of working with, and I know they will do everything possible to help our students succeed.
