Caywood Elementary School-Parent-Student-Teacher Compact 

AS A STUDENT, I WILL: 

• Respect my school, classmates, staff, and family.
• Show respect for myself, my school, and everyone at school. 
• Attend school regularly and on time.
• Come to school each day with supplies and ready to learn. 
• Take responsibility for my behavior.
• Complete and return homework assignments to the best of my ability. 
• Conform to the school rules on student conduct and behavior. 

AS A PARENT/GUARDIAN OR FAMILY MEMBER, I WILL: 

• Talk to my child regularly about the value of education. 
• Monitor screen time and make sure that my child reads every day. 
• Make sure that my child attends school every day, on time, and with homework completed. 
• Support the school's discipline and dress codes. Monitor my child's progress in school. Make every effort to attend school events such as school decision making, parent-teacher conferences, and virtual parent night. 
• Ensure that my child gets adequate sleep, regular medical attention, and proper nutrition. 
• Participate in shared decision-making with school staff and other families for the benefit of students.
• Respect the school, staff, students, and families. 

AS A TEACHER, I WILL: 

• Show respect for our students and their families as we model a positive attitude;
•  Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables students to meet the State’s academic achievement standards as follows:

•  Provide planned instructional lessons and meaningful homework assignments.
• Expect students to participate in the learning process by being engaged learners.
• Have high expectations for each student.

• Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning and support the formation of partnerships with families and the community. Enforce rules equitably and involve students in creating a warm and caring learning environment in the classroom.
