Tennessee is raising the bar for students in the classroom.
Higher academic standards will make students ready for a career or college. But higher standards also mean
harder tests — and maybe lower test scores and grades, in the near term.
If your child is struggling with higher standards, don't get discouraged. As a parent, it's time to
EXPECT MORE so your child can ACHIEVE MORE.
In an effort to keep our parents better informed about our state's current initiatives in education,
we have listed some resourses and links below.

The meal was compliments of the Lexington City Board of Education of which consisted of crisp salads, delicious entrees, and delectable deserts. The atmosphere was easygoing with swing music playing and everyone enjoying light conversation and fellowship. As in years past, the night started with an invocation followed by the pledge of allegiance. Guests were treated to an a cappella version of “God Bless America” by our very own Stephanie Clark. Members of our Jr. Beta Club local chapter served our guests and provided child care in gracious fashion, a clear reflection of teacher’s hard work throughout the year. Greetings by our Director of Schools Mr. Joe T. Wood gave way to the more formal part of the evening starting with the many celebrations and accomplishments of our system. To lighten the mood, we segued into our entertainment part of the evening. Once again, we were delighted by inspirational songs from two of our very own, Ms. Beth Deere and Ms. Kellie Deere. The night ended in grand fashion. To our teachers…
