Cindy Olive

CindyOliveI have been an educator for 28 years with the majority of my time spent with primary children in grades K-3: Kindergarten for ½ year; second grade for 9½ years, computer science (K-8) for 3 years; third grade for 3; and first grade for 8 years.  In 2013-14, I worked in the office at CES logging attendance and registering new students.  In 2014-15 I was named the assistant principal in PreK-2 at Caywood Elementary.  I am currently in my 2nd year serving as principal for Caywood Elementary School.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Memphis and my Master’s Degree at Union University.  I am married and have two children: Madison is 26 and lives and works in Nashville, TN.   My son Peyton is 21 and is a senior at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.   My husband Bobby and I have been married for 28 years and he works at FedEx.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, my dog Oscar, traveling, and water sports.


I am very excited about this school year working with PreK-5 teachers, students, and families because every day is a new adventure! Whitney Owens

Whitney Owens

Whitney Owens is in her first year at Lexington Middle School as the assistant principal. She is a native of Hollow Rock, Tennessee where she graduated from Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School. Whitney attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Human Performance.  She went on to complete her graduate degree at Carson-Newman University.

Whitney has taught Physical Education at Lexington Middle School for six years and currently coaches Volleyball. Whitney also serves as the athletic director for Lexington Middle School.

Angela Blankenship

Angela Blankenship is the 3rd-5th assistant principal at Caywood Elementary School. Angela began her administrative career at Lexington Middle School and was the first principal of LMS. This year, 2016-2017, marks her 26th year as an educator with 25 of those years being with the Lexington City School System. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lambuth University and a Masters degree in Administration from  Trevecca University.

Angela’s husband, Tommy Blankenship, is also an educator at Westover School. Family is the most important part of Angela’s life, and this feeling is carried into the school with her staff and students. A family culture is promoted at Caywood Elementary among the staff and within each grade level and classroom. By combining interaction and input from the teachers, students, parents and community, the school is able to better meet the needs of all concerned. Caywood Elementary has an open door policy and encourages all parents to call and express any concerns or offer helpful suggestions regarding students’ needs and education.

Jackie Seaton

Jackie SeatonMy name is Jackie Seaton and I have been an educator for 26 years. I have spent the majority of my teaching career in 4th grade teaching math and science. I have taught in 2nd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. I am currently in my second year as Assistant Principal in PreK-2 at Caywood Elementary. I enjoy my new position in the Lexington City School System. I look forward to the new experiences and challenges. This job allows me to work with all teachers and students. I feel with my years of experience in the field of education, I am able to provide knowledge and guidance to my fellow co-workers and the children.

I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from UT Martin in 1988, and completed my Master’s Degree at Union University. I am married to my husband Joe Don and we have been married 25 years. God has blessed us with two wonderful children, Spencer and Anna. Both are students at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. We are all members of 1st Baptist Church in Lexington.

I enjoy decorating, baking, and watching old classic movies, but family is the most important part of my life. I love traditions and creating special memories for my children, family, and friends.

I am very excited about another school year at Caywood Elementary. I work with the best administrators, teachers, and staff. I am very blessed to be able to work at a school that is like my second family.
