August 1 was registration day.  The gym at CES and the foyer at LMS were full of smiles, hugs, questions, and statements such as "I can't believe you've gotten so tall!" It is a day of promise for a new school year, a new start, and a fresh start.  That's the great thing about a new school year...we come with some new pencils, a notebook or two, crayons if you are little, dry erase markers if you are bigger, and hope.  We let bygones be bygones, and everyone, young and old, has a chance to be the best they can be.

Parents come with high hopes for their children. Teachers come with high hopes for their students. In Lexington City School System, one of our mottos is Every Child Valued, Every Child Challenged, Every Child Successful. We believe this, and we exhibit this every day through our words, actions, and deeds. It is part of our rich history in the City of Lexington, and it will continue to be the focus of the bright future we had ahead of us.

Parents, we are proud and grateful that you chose LCSS as the system where your child or children will attend.  You are a valued partner with our schools in the education of our students. With your help and cooperation, this is going to be to be a great year! We are #learningeverywherewego, and I can't wait to see the opportunities that unfold for our girls and boys in 2017-18!

            Go Minutemen!
